A Lifetime of Sisterhood

The National Alumnae Association of Spelman College (NAASC) Columbia, Maryland Chapter was organized on September 20, 1975, by Ora Sterling King. Ten additional local area Spelman College alumnae also pledged their commitment to dedicated service to Spelman College as members of the new chapter.  Today the chapter continues to flourish with membership exceeding 40 members.

Spelman Thy Name We Praise

Founded in 1881, Spelman College is a global leader in the education of women of African descent and we are proud members of the Atlanta University Center Consortium. Today our student body comprises more than 2,100 students from 41 states and 15 foreign countries. Spelman empowers women to engage the many cultures of the world and inspires a commitment to positive social change through service.
